OB15 -- space constraint

Post by anonymous »

Hi,

I am planning to build the OB15.

I have an old house, and I want to make sure the finished boat will fit through the opening of the bulkhead in my basement. It´s a straight shot out the door, so if I could get the dimensions of the largest station, I can determine if it will fit -- I´m sure you´ve heard or experienced that one before.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Dave

Of course, the other option would be for me to give the dimensions of the opening, it´s about 60 inches square.

I have some leeway in the form of door jambs, etc.

The beam of the boat is stated on the study plans. The width is 66".

I still need a cross section though. if it´s 60 on a side, then we can calculate the diagonal of the opening which is 84.85 inches. the beam would fit through the opening, but will the completed boat?

That boat fits through almost any door.
On its side, the max. section is 66" high and 24.5" wide.
