Fs14ls or Ob15?

Post by Tassie Devil »

Im confused, i purchased the ob15 plans but looking over things I'm fond of the fs14ls may be extended! I don't like the round transom on the fs and wondering if it can be omitted? Basically i want a boat with low HP, roomy for two, great for flyfishing but can handle chop quiet well. Also must be under 16ft. Too many decisions? Im a competent builder but id love some advice. Im stumped how to upload pics here too?

You can make the transom flat across the top. :D

The OB will be a bit drier and smoother in a chop, but if that isn't a concern then the FS is a good little boat and can be customized quite a bit to suit your needs. It'll also run on less HP thanks to being lighter, smaller and less deadrise. The raised transom on the FS14LS is to accommodate a 20" outboard, if you use a 15" outboard then it'll be much lower and bother versions are shown on the plans.
Previous builds: FL14, NC16, and others...

Current build: FL14 (+10%)
