Fs14ls power qustion

I am new to this so this might be a stupid question. I have been looking at the fs14ls plans as a first build. I have a question in power for the boat. I have access to a recently rebuilt jet ski motor and pump with controls. Does anyone know if I might be able to use that in this boat? If not is it do to the size and maybe the large fs18 work? I saw in one of the other pist that it came with a ls version in the plans. Any thoughts would be welcome.

Max hp is 25 on the fs14ls but one guy is running a 90, so anything is possible.

Do you know the weight and hp for the engine?

There is a bateau design intended for use with a donor jetski, maybe the runabout or something similar, I'll try to find that.

Found it. It's the jetabout 18, I would read up on that one for some background.

Possible? Perhaps. Foolhardy? Definitely.

PJ Piercy put a jet on his FS14 many years ago, I would guess 2010-12 or so. If you can find his build down in the Builders area he has pictures of him going over gravel bars in his native NW rivers. Don't know what size he used compared to what size you have but it is possible to use one. Don't know how his experience will transfer to your FS14LS.
