He needs the motor weight forward to prevent the front end from being too light and steering like a Chevy Corvair on the highway used to. Gives that front pontoon a little more "traction"? But also prevents it from handling any waves at speed. Holy smoke think about this thing hitting a wake.

It looks like he is turning the front float.
At the end when it is on the trailer it's hard to see what is on the back strut --maybe someone with one of those big high def monitors can tell us.
