8)

I had several guys on my "flip crew" that were very pessimistic about my 75 pushing the sled.

Jacques wins again.

Ditto to lucky louis' experience. That big ole C19 with a tiny little 115 looks like it will be slow. A little throttle, a little trim and it flies.

ob17 4th season

Post by Leif »

Always good to hear from ob17 builders. I just completed my 4th season and 1,200 hours on Rose Sea. I can`t count the number of curious(and/or admiring) boaters( most of the crew on one ferry ride) who wonder is it an old restoration, fiberglass, wood, who designed ,who built, man is that thing beautiful!?I`ve taken Many fishing trips, usually myself and 1 or 2 others. A little common sense and we go where the big boys go. She`s amazingly seaworthy and tracks like on a rail. With the windshield and convertible top we can get snug as a bug. With the closed foredeck and windshield we`ve taken some bow seas that I`m really glad didn`t come aboard. Mainly she`s been an excellent fishing boat, with GPS, fishfinder, and 2 electric downriggers as tools. RoseSea still looks great, with just some very minor dings and 1 cleat that loosened up in a storm. I`m doing a remodel this winter, putting in racy new seats, some fancy storage, and a new slightly modified exterior color scheme(Lucky, you got me thinking ).I have a few pictures I`d like to post as soon as I figure out how to do it. I built a Montana driftboat last year, and now I`m thinking about a CX19.River, bay, offshore.Hey, I just love to build boats. Later.

Good news, thank you for the reports.
Besides the pride, another big advantage of building your own boat is that you can upgrade her anyway you want. Use her as soon as she is built and like Leif, upgrade her later.

I'll assume you're running Windows... I believe Apple is similiar but different details.

1. Post the pictures to your gallery (not absolutely required, anywhere on the web will work too)

2. View the image you want to post (at the size you want to post too)

3. Right-click anywhere on that image and select 'properties'
Left drag your mouse to highlight the location part starting with http..
and ending with .jpg Press Control+c to copy the link (or right-click copy)

4. Go to the thread where you want to post the image.

5. When in your message body, press control+v to paste the link
(or right-click paste). Left drag the link you just pasted to highlight it again.

6. Click the [img]button.%20%20The%20site%20software%20will%20place%20a%20pair%20or%20tags%20around%20your%20link%20 at the end. You can do these manually if you want to.

That's it so start posting!

Thanks for the information. Now I suppose all I need to know is where to post pictures to. Do you have any recommendations?

Yes, you should use the builder gallery on this site. Click on builder galleries at the top of the page then click on Login.

The one caveat is that your pictures will need to be of reasonable size (both in # of pixels and bytes). Use picasa or the XP image resizer powertoy (if you're using windows xp) to resize your pictures all in one shot - try 1024x768.

p.s. I used to work in Bothell, at the University.
