Little late getting to this one, but here's a picture of a Microdraft brand boat which shows everything you're talking about. The transom is raised, it has a jackplate, and motor is a tiller style. Its a mercury 60 with a 4-blade prop.

Modified transom (taller)
OK, here is the modified transom, 20" from top of tunnel to top of transom........4 to 4 and 1/2" taller than what is shown on the plans. This should allow me to use the jack plate to raise the prop up to be running in the water shooting out of the tunnel.
Luckily I had not glued in the clamping board when Sticky Stuff and Aripeka Angler pointed out that the transom did not look tall enough. Cut the clamping board (2 layers of 3/8" marine ply laminated together) taller, glued and glassed it in, then laminated a 1/2" marine ply piece on the outside.
Will put a couple of layers of tape over the seam between the old transom and the extension.
Thanks all for the advice.

Biaxial cloth
I bought the fiberglass kit (resin and cloth) from this site. I have not wasted any cloth in glassing the hull exterior (kept all the scraps) and now am glassing the interior. I am finding that I need literally every scrap of the fiberglass cloth in order to get one layer of cloth on the interior.
Are other XF20 builders finding the same thing?

Re: XF20 - New project: Questions (and more to come!)
Wow, I can't believe it has been almost 9 months since my last post on this thread. After a too hot summer + too much travel + too cold winter, I am finally back building.
Inside of the boat is entirely glassed, now time to put in the stringers and frames.
I have a question about doing the stringers/frames......is it best to glue the stringers & frames in (using EZ Filet) and then glass in with 6" tape, or, is gluing in not needed?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
