Thanks Lower

I am getting back into things very slowly. Yesterday I finished setting up the chase tubes for the control cables, steering and helms.
My neighbor helped me drill several holes in the stringers and the cross pieces for electrical chase tubes. I now have to clean all the dust and start coating the cleats with epoxy. At the same time a second coat of epoxy will be applied to all bulkheads.

After that I will start pouring the foam. I have already tested about 2 ounce of the stuff....scary man...

How are you doing with your build? Haven't seen any pictures lately. Keep up the good work.

Hello all,
I'm sorry to post that our friend Farouk Khan (Bushmaster) has passed away. I received a call from his wife the other day confirming this most unfortunate news. While it was no secret he was having health problems his family and lively spirit had kept him motivated. While his boat was the reason we stayed in touch it should be noted that he spent more time talking of his family and grandchildren than about building. He was going to name the boat Sarah K after his grandaughter. Acording to his wife "the boat was his pride and joy."
With his family still grieving they don't know yet what to do with the FS17. He has a son who may take on the project but right now it is too early to determine. In time we may need to lend some help. I made sure his wife has my number and told her to please contact me for any help... she knows I will pass any info on building along.

Farouk was a very nice fellow, I spoke to him many times and he came to see us more than once. His son joined the board and posted about about his passing a few months ago, I told him we would do what we could to help him finish his dad's boat. Im sure he is missed by a lot of people.

Thanks Joel,
I'm glad his son contacted you. I believe that he passed away in December.... however he often made trips to Canada for family... I was hoping he had just went on another vacation :(

I was also afraid of this news as I was following his build closely, including several references to health issues. Joel (or anyone)...I will do whatever I can to help if the boat needs a community effort to get it done. Would be great to finish it out and give it back to the family if his son does not want to take the build on himself.

I sure hate hearing that. I enjoyed watching his build and the pride he put into his work. I will miss seeing him around. I do hope his boat gets finished...I'm sure it would mean a lot to him.
