Re: Southeastern Boat Builders Meet May 7th-9th, 2010
I forgot to mention the fellow we chartered on Friday has the same hull that we rebuilt (we close anyway). He had a 23' proline flatback which is basically the same design as the 222 Aquasport Flatback.
Seeing the boats people use in different areas is always interesting to me. FL West coast has many builders of basically the same boat (derivatives of the 22 flatback): Dorado, Sheaffer, Gause, Aeon, and others. Pretty cool boats, they work great for that area.

Here are my pictures from the meet. Some from a cell phone, others from a camera.
View of the beach, this is a pretty place. I love Florida...

My wife Sandi loves kids
She watched Joseph and Gavin some so Jen could catch a break. Sandi covered up Joseph with sand, I think he likes it

Derek with Gavin. Derek has four boys...

This lighthouse is pretty cool. There is one lighthouse on the island and it outnumbers the convienience stores...

Seth and his wife enjoying the fine weather. Derrick's Fs-14 is in front of them...

I went fishing with CL a couple of times. His OD18 is sweet and he is a fine Captain. CL at the helm and Seth looking for fish...

Tarpon off the port bow
I count fourteen. Hope they show up when I resize the picture...

The SEAL team heading out at first light...

Erin, Adam and Craig on Clara. Pretty boat with nice wood...

Last pic. It's a porpoise that loves a certain spot in the canal. She weighs a half ton and is hard to get on film....

That's all I got, see you all at the next meet. I had a blast....

Very Nice pictures Richard. Thanks for posting them. Florida is a pretty place, only time I've been there was for the Hurricane Andrew Cleanup, things were a mess, but the beachs were still nice.
Completed: FL14, OD18

This is only the second meet I have missed. I would have been there except for the week before we spent 3 nights at Ft.Desoto campgrounds. Budget was used up for a much needed vacation. I plan on retiring on July 2nd. Hopefully much more time on the water and do some traveling. We have a 24 ft. fifth wheel and plan on enjoying much of Fl. we haven't seen. Even though I was born and raised here their is much to see. Also plan on crossing the line and do some searching up Cracker Larry's neck of the woods as well as S. Carolina and where ever we end up. Looking forward to not having to clock in and put up with all the BS that is involved in daily work job.
Glad you all had a great time. Looks like we missed a good one. Beautiful boat building still goes on.
