1987 Laser Basser Restor

Post by 1fastlaser »

First post here. Great site fellas....TONS of info.

I am finalizing the materials list on my 1987 Laser restorattion. In the process of doing this resto I have changed a few things as far as the structure...ie...going with full length stringers and using all composits in the resto. My goal is to loose as much weight as possible but at the same time still build a safe strong boat. Transom of course is getting redone with the addition off knee braces.
My question is on the floor...I know I can reduce weight here as well and want to know from the experts what would the least thickness you would use? The actual walking surface is very small...no more than a 4'x4' area and of course will be supported bu the underlying structure...ie stringers and bulkheads. Can I get away with 1/4" ?
