Home page errors 4/19/2004

Post by bbuckl »

The bateau2 home page loads with errors, and the forum information is missing. It was like this early today, then ok for a while, and now it's back. Is it just me?

You're not alone... I've have the same problems for a week or two now.

And as you said it's fine for a while, then gets messed up for an hour or so. Then it goes back to normal again...

Has this resolved, are are you still seeing it?

Thanks.

Yes, it eventually cleared up. I discovered the bateau2 home page would be ok from my home pc, but when accessing the site from work, I would get the error. Then it would be ok when I got home. So, I assume their was an html error on the page for a very brief period, and my company cached the page with the error.

I'm not really sure if it has to do with what is reported in this thread but I am experiencing similar problems, as follows:

Every time I try to point to the upper menu (on top of the page), I get an error message and can't access it. It happens only at this page (builder forums). No problem doing the same thing at any of the other sites top menus.

I'm not sure if it is something with the page or my PC. It was working fine a couple of weeks ago. The only thing that changed meanwhile was the fact that I had to reinstall my OS due to a HD replacement. I use Windows XP which is totally updated and IE 6.0 also updated.

I hope this helps, and please let me know if it maybe my PC and what I should do then.

Best regards.
JG

Sorry. Please ignore my previous post. After posting it, I did a clean-up of all my cookies and off-line contents, just in case, and the error stoped occurring. I had done this before without success, but this time seems it worked.

Thanks.
JG

I had DNS problems over the weekend - I could get in on the old IP address 66.70.13.66, but could not access the forum or gallery using the links from the home page...

I had just the same a little while ago... It annoyed me to the point where I now have two entries in my hosts file:

64.65.2.40 bateau2.com
66.70.13.66 forums.bateau2.com

That solved the problem, but is quite a dirty fix.

But a fix is a fix...

The buggers in IT at work have blocked access to the board - not work related :( , but I can still get in by using the IP addresses (66.70.13.66) - I'm sure they'll twig soon, so it's useful to have another!!!

Gotta have something to do at lunchtime...
