it back together.

Got a little more work done on the cap over the weekend. Gets very stiff once you glass it together. Over all I like the shape. You can also see that I cut the space between the center stringers out in the area that will below the console.





This is how I handled the cockpit area. Didn't want to role the glass down the side so stopped the new covering board 1.5 inches back and tapered it down.

What are you going to do with the remaining rear cabin wall?

Thanks Mine, the floor will actually cover that area and the "tub" you see will be under the console. That rear bulkhead will go up to the underside of the floor.

Are you going to bring the stringer up to meet the new sole, or are you going to go with deck stiffeners ?

The stringers will come up to the sole up to to point were the console sits. Then it will switch to stiffners on the underside. Started building the console mold. BIG. I'll post some shots tonight

I decided to start on the console so I would have something to work on and admire during the week. She is big! Cut molds out of OSB. made a strong back and leveled it on the garage floor. Then started mounting the molds. They are space 17.25 inches on center. I then started putting the battens on. Used 1x2s. A little stiff so I put them in the pool for a few hours. I made the corners to have a 6" radius. Started planking the one corner. Need to get the unscored foam for the sides.

She is 8' long by 5' wide by 54" tall in the back. What do you think of the shape? Too sleek?

I like the shape, no need to make a boxy console.

I would use thinner battens and more of them, it will help keep the shape more fair between molds. Maybe a bunch of strips of scrap 1/2 plywood.

Do you know where you are going mount the top?

I was originally going to stop out some plywood Joel and got lazy. I know roughly where the top is coming down. I plan to put either plywood or hd foam in a strip to give some flexibility. You think side door or tilt the front?
