Yes, that is not a bad suggestion either.

I am also looking at the FS19. Just looking at the options available.

In favor of the FS19, it is my last design and I went into serious details to help the builder.
If you keep her simple, she should not be more difficult to build than the others but she is a much bigger boat, cost of materials is much higher.

I also think the FS19 would be the way to go for your program. If it was available when I built my OD18, I probably would have built that instead. It will be a little more difficult, but not too much. Better to build the boat you need, you can learn as you go. Plenty of help here.

Thanks Larry. I'll send you a copy of those plans for your review. I added some "how to" drawings to it, mostly because of the questions of one of our FS17 builders about drawing parts on the plywood.
With a little fine tuning, that FS19 could be used as a boat building tutorial.

I love my OD 18. It is very roomy. Have had 4 adults on the boat and it fishes well. The flat bottom will slap in chop, but with a spray rail not a very wet ride. As CL and you said, just slow down some in rough seas. The FS 19 looks great. May be my next build some day. Don't fret over lack of experience. If you ask many questions from this board, you will get good clear answers! Good luck. John

Jacques, I received the plans this morning, thanks again.

All I've got to say is BEAUTIFUL :!: If this was available when I built my OD18, I would have built this boat instead. One of your best yet 8)

Thanks for the nice comments and wait until you see the renderings.
This is a nice blend of a traditional hull shape (inspired by the Simmons Sea Skiff) and modern materials and construction.
I still have to fine tune some details but one can build from those plans.
