I know that Jacques dislikes it because he would prefer users to post questions on the boards instead of private-messaging him.

Other than that, it will have to wait for someone who actually knows what they are talking about.

It's a lovely day. I think I'll go mix some epoxy.

jacques is out of touch for several days -- he and I talked about the sites before he left via e mail --- but he said nothing about turning off PM.

I emailed Ryan and she and Joel don't know about it either, so I'm guessing it was a mistake.

I turned it back on today --- but there may have been a legitimate reason to turn it off, in which case, it may have to be deactivated.

Until them. PM is back..
Lost -- but not forgotten.

I like it to get hold of some guys to ask if they want to fish with me. Everyone doesn't need to know when I'm fishing and all the reasons why someone can't make it this weekend, etc. It's good place to exchange phone numbers in private too.

Private Messaging is a highly desirable feature. Believe it or not, some of us carry on non-boatbuilding related conversations that start out as PM and move on to email, phone calls and (gasp) even meeting other forum members.... My vote is for!

Sorry I'm late to the thread. I've used private messaging for things that I'm sure the cyber world has no interest in ( or shouldn't anyway).

Ironically, most p.m's are not boat building related except is nte most general way.
