Deck Replacement, Divinylcell thickness?

Post by Formula Red »

Planning a composite rebuild on a 15' scooter boat. (Deck, & transom) What thickness of divinylcell for deck replacement ? Laminating shedule? Also, core recommendation and laminating schedule for transom?

Not applicable to our boats. That is a very weird table, we must be missing something.

Please see this:

What is a scooter boat? A TX scooter?

What is the framing that supports that deck?
I need to know the framing and the type of bond between deck, framing and sheer.

How about the transom? What do you now? Any stringer bonded to the transom?

Having trouble posting pics. There are 2 pics above linked from formula red gallery.

The scooter boat is a 1990 Majek 15' Scooter. Deck has not been removed yet. I have determined the stringer layout by cutting a few of 3" holes and probing a small rod until I hit the stringers. The current deck is 1/2" ply.
3 Stringers(not top hat), from center stringer to outer stringers is approximately 22" , from outer stringers to edge of boat is approximately 15".

Would like to go with composites. Sugestions for stringer material and spacing if they need replacing, deck material and thickness and lamination schedule. Thank You!
