FS14 sole

Post by wannabatc »

I'm still working on my sk14 and haven't started on the FS14 but am thinking and planning it. I have looked at the low shear version but decided I want to keep my freeboard for seaworthy reasons. I do like the sole on the low shear and am thinking about doing this. My question is this. If I install a sole using the top of the stringers as the location of the sole will it be self bailing?

Still thinking about the jet drive and what to do about the bottom. I looked at the ph18 build and the tunnel (pad?) that was installed reportedly designed by Outboard Jet. I asked in another thread about a tunnel but I think I was more thinking about a pad rather than a true tunnel or pocket drive.

I understand I will have to run pvc pipes for water to drain from the front compartment to the middle compartment and from there to the transom for drainage.
