Transom
Transom
I am looking for some help with my transom ( 27 Blackfin) . Currently it is a notched transom. I want a full transom so I can put a bracket on it. My transom has a curve in it. Will coosa flex enough? I will attach some pics thx

Re: Transom
Thin pieces flex easily.
You can laminate multiple thin sheets into a composite curved thicker piece that wants to be that shape.

Re: Transom
I would go with 1/4 inch if you go the Coosa route. As Narfi said thin sheets flex more easily. You could also use our AquaPlas III Transom Board, which is more flexible than Coosa, but still very durable.
Re: Transom
Thanks for the replies. What material would you use? Aquaplas ? How thick should I buy. I need a total thickness of 2 3/4 inches.
Re: Transom
There is more to it than just the thickness: frames and stringers play an important role.
For the transom, build up with several thin layers of whatever material you prefer, epoxy glued.
I would use GelMagic epoxy glue and layers of Aquaplas or marine plywood. The 1/2 Aquaplas will bend, for plywood, use layers of 1/4", max. 3/8.
If you use foam, you MUST use foam with high compression strength.
