2017 Southeast builder's meet at River Palms Cottage OCT 13-14th
Re: 2017 Southeast builder's meet at River Palms Cottage OCT 13-14th
Will be picking up FS14 kits this Saturday. I will not be able to go to meetup. By the time I get there most will be out on the their boats. I don't drive well at night, so staying till the cookout, then leaving would not be safe. I do need to be in Home Sunday morning for Church. Hope everybody has a great time, I will post photo's of build.

Well you would be in good company i don't think any of us would be able to drive very well after the cookout

I don't do well driving at night either, so I understand completely, but you will be missing a nice get together. Maybe next year you can attend with your finished boat. Good luck with your build. Mike

I still would like to drive down on Saturday and hang out for a few hours in the evening. This being the case, I will not be bringing the boat or needing a room. Before I cancel my room, does anyone need it?? Its a simple hotel-style room on the cheaper end of the scale, 2 beds.
Sorry to hear that you won't be able to stay very long but glad you will still be coming down for Saturday evening!
See you on Saturday,
Reid

I will definitely see you on Saturday morning for the kit pickup. Not sure if you want to take advantage of Majorgator's open room at River Palms Cottages but as you read earlier, it is available.

Re: 2017 Southeast builder's meet at River Palms Cottage OCT 13-14th
Hello everyone,
First off, I wanted to let everyone know that we had a very successful trip to the Florida Sportsman Expo in Tampa, FL over the weekend. Jeff and I set up a booth and brought Seaslug's FS14_LS. It was a big hit!!! We had one of the founders of Florida Sportsman Magazine spend some time with us and wants to discuss doing more at the next show, we even had interest/inquiries from other boat manufacturers about purchasing a kit to build for themselves!!! Thank you to our builders who came out and stopped by to show their support, it is always appreciated!
Ok, back to the Builder's Meet. With the meet only days away, we have had some late additions and cancellations (unfortunately). We welcome the newcomers and are sorry to see that some are unable to attend this year. We still have one room available in the Boat Builder Central cabin (#18). Please contact me if you are interested. Also, MajorGator will be cancelling his room so that cabin will be available as well. Please reach Fisout to MajorGator if you want to secure that room.
Keep posting what each of you plans on bringing to the event. Once again, we are not planning a cookout for Friday evening, just a few cocktails and beers, food will be on your own that night. Saturday will be the main cookout and gathering. Hopefully we have some fresh caught fish to eat!!!
Fishing forecast: I have seen plenty of reports of some nice snook being caught. We have had quite a bit of rain down here and Lake Okeechobee is extremely high, this results in discharges of the lake thru Hoover Dyke into the St. Lucie River. I have personally seen tons of mullet running in the Indian River so bait should be pretty easy to come by if you get up early Saturday morning. There is a local bait and tackle shop, "Snook Nook", a few minutes away from River Palms Cottages. They would be a good contact for some local knowledge and current fishing conditions, 772-334-2145.
Sorry for the long winded message. See you all on Saturday!

Thank you for the information on bait and fishing conditions. For those of us who are coming down for the day on Saturday, where is the best place to launch and/or park? My wife and I will be heading down from Orlando and we will probably be getting in around 9-10am. I apologize if this has been covered already but I figured it would be easier to ask again.

There is boat ramp about 1 mile north of it, along the Jensen Beach causeway.
You have to get on the bridge, the ramp is along the bridge.
