Re: Sintes 21 Rebuild
Got around to doing a little boat work the last few days. First thing was wrap glass over the gunwales and down the sides a couple of inches. I wanted a nice straight line so I used a batten and hot glued it to the side. Then used partall to keep the epoxy from sticking. The next day when I went to peel the batten off it took primer and fairing compound with it
So now I have a mess to try and clean up.

The good news is I am hoping I will never have this view of the fuel tank.

One step forward and one back. Thats the way it goes sometimes.

David are you going to put any sealer between the hold down straps and the tank
you don't want any crevice corrosion .

What's a little more fairing, painting and ... SANDING!!!?
How's it feel to be back on the boat a bit?

Use gorilla shipping tape on the batten next time. If there is any difference in the compounds in the steel between the tank and the holddown; you'll likely end up with galvanic corrosion. Make sure to put something in between them no matter what. The other fellow gave you great advice and I 2nd it.

Re: Sintes 21 Rebuild
Good to hear from you John. There is nothing between the straps and the tank. I can still raise them and either put some of the rubber they sent in there or use 5200. What do you guys think? All other support spots have the rubber straps put on the tank with 5200. This what Speedy Tanks said to do and is recommended by Prisco. I never thought about the tie down straps

Re: Sintes 21 Rebuild
It is good to be back doing some boat work. My summer break went a little longer than planned.
Re: Sintes 21 Rebuild
Use 5200 between the strap and the rubber. Will keep the rubber from moving and "if" you ever need to remove the tank the straps will not stick to the tank.
