Hulls Design Software
Has anyone desinged and built a small boat using Hulls Design Software. I have used it to design a small hard chined kayak, and am curious as to how accurate the offset measurements are for laying out the plywood. This is a very cool program.

Please, next time post this at amateurboatbuilding.com.
The Carlson software is good to a point. It develops panels using the paralelograms method which is correct BUT it does not check for developability. That means, it will develop a panel that is not developable. In other words, you will not be able to bend the plywood in shape.
Over the years, we used all kind of software to develop panels: Prolines, Nautilus, Cliff Estes stuff and my own but right now we stick to Rhino. It has great tools to analyze the surface like Gaussian curvature and mapping.
Rhino is based on the Kilgore algorithm.
Check it out at rhino3d.com
