I have a friend who all his life builds, rebuilds, restore boats, yachts, and most of his projects he buys and builds it's own way. It is like in kitchen one chef makes food by recipe other knows the way he can make it. If you don't make any mistakes life is boring and you don't learn :)
I think don't worry do like you think it should be and there is always second chance :)

you can see my runners are 2500mm and I put stainless steel on it, but it was bad idea to use spruce i think to change them maybe to pine or larch it is more water resistant and stronger.

Today was a funny day, start of sailboat jobs, but plywood wood was bad quality, then decided to make some thing for my Jon boat it was Fender holders :D Made only one because broke my vice by doing one :D so not the best day to star something. But this is what i made doesn't look very useful but time will show.

Be interesting to see how those fender holders work. Looks like it might be a little cool for boating now for you

Ingenious idea for fender holders :D
Too bad about breaking the vice but if it's strong enough to break the vice I bet the holders themselves are strong!

Next time will use smaller bearings to press copper :)

New holder for a boat, some stainless steel, magnets and it should look good.

Good idea. The little custom things make the boat much nicer.
