My opinion is that it was a few bad batches.
I personally know of 4 paint jobs that fell off.
CL, Larry B, mine and a dude in the Florida panhandle with an XF20. If I remember, his name was Brian.
BBC stood behind the product and sent me replacement material. 8)
The debacle did make very suspicious of taking advice from them.

AA, yes CL was extremely tough on the product with absolute justification!!! I agree it was a bad batch!!!! Jeff

Off topic but there are certainly worse things that can happen.
I got one for you. We bought a bad “batch” of 1-1-trichlorothane contact adhesive.
We lost 6 million worth of product. Followed the application procedures perfectly...

It was in 1990’s, the adhesive company was/still is located in the southwest US. I’m not allowed to use their name because of a non-disclosure agreement.
They paid us expenses to replace or repair the first 50% of the claim. It got so serious that the customer, (a bank super regional) ended up settling the final 50% of the claim directly with them. Nobody won, it was a mess.
There was a claim going in NY at the same time as ours for about 200 million...

$6m in Millwork? In the 90s!?! Holy smoke that’s crazy.
