The boat will mean much more to you now that you are using money you worked for. Good for you doing it this way.

I finally got time from School, Baseball tournaments and Teal Season to do a little work on the boat. With my dads helped we made out butt joints and glued the transom together. I hope i to start stitching this week, lots of rain forecasted so no baseball practice.

I've seen a lot of different things used for weight here but that's the first time I've seen 28 gauge shells used! :lol:

Great looking boat started! 8) The 5 gal paint stirrers make great spacers! :lol:

I'm jealous of you having a dad that encourages you to do projects like this! I think this is a rare thing in the world these days, excluding this forum. I try my best to encourage my boys.
