Re: SBW FRS-15 Build “Kestrel”
Haven’t updated in a while but a lot going on!
Console with grab bar designed Received my new trailer! Topside is leveled out where the decks meet the rub rail /flairs Knee boards installed...glad I recently got these long clamps! Decided to cut the rear bulkhead in half to make it a split bench! After much deliberation and discussion with fellow tiller operators this will be optimal. Made the bench removable though, so have the option for seating if needed. Also raised the rear deck so there’s a small “bilge well” in the rear to collect water to be pumped out Transom eyes installed, deck glassed, and scored a couple great marketplace finds...cheap brand new WetSounds speakers and a used 20ft G Loomis push pole 3 rounds of blended filler/fairing
And this is how she sits today! Console and platform installed! Ready for primer.

Beautiful build!
On the last picture, are you going to round over that edge? Sharp edges on most things tend to ding easier. Having not finished a boat, I can only imagine it is similar.

Yes! That’s actually an older photo, I’ve since routered the top and bottom of the rub rail (cypress wood) with I think a 3/8” bit? Can’t remember, but it’s nice round and smooth. Will do a multitude of layers of epoxy then varnish, then a stainless rib down the middle as well. But I got what you’re saying...I was concerned about the sharp edge cutting my fishing line!

Re: SBW FRS-15 Build “Kestrel”
Been busy but not busy keeping y’all updated. Everything is painted, and almost time to mount the motor! Quick question...is everyone using 4200 to glue motor on, or just in and around the bolt holes (which are over drilled, filled, and redrilled)?
Used Alexseal paint, and Soft Sand for non skid, filling the method done by Boatworks Today on YouTube. Really came out fantastic!
