Just received the plans. Intended use is as a whale watching/sunset cruise 6 pac in the San Juan Islands (Washington State). Regarding sea worthyness: this is a rather sheltered area, i.e., not open ocean, but not exactly a river. Any suggestions or comments?
The GT23 is not an offshore boat but will be fine in semi-protected waters.
Be careful not to over load the bow. That nice sweep is an advantage running in a chop but the boat can not take too much weight there.

John -

we agree on the boat. I bought my GT23 plans to use as a six-pack on the Missouri River in eco- and history tourism. Happy guiding!

Jacques -

Could the bow carry any riders at all while underway at displacement or near-plane speeds?

jeff

Yes, one or two persons can sit there but not more.
It will be uncomfortable if not dangerous at high speed.
