OB 15
Re: OB 15
Very nice OB15. I love mine. For a small boat it handles Big water very well. The big reverse chines make it an extremely sturdy hull. I currently have a Yammie C60 on mine, and it flies at WOT, but its more for being able to run with heavier loads at cruising speed. Love the color scheme you chose. I just refinished mine this past winter after about 12 years and its going strong. Just needed fresh paint and lots of little dings fixed, as it gets plenty of use. Best of luck with yours!

Re: OB 15
Wow a 60

I just did the math on the miles traveled last week. 51.41 nm total. I put marks on my tank to sight gauge the fuel in the tank. I used only a little over 6 gallons total, 8.57 gallons per miles. I think that’s pretty good for a boat.
The fuel gauge is a little of, currently showing just above 1/4, but there is half a tank of fuel. I must have done something wrong in the installation of the gauge.

I think I read that the trout, redfish, and snook will be closed until September of 2021 in the west coat of Florida.
The trout and snook are plentiful in the south side of Tampa. Got a few big healthy snook. It’s definitely nice to see.

Hey Ruben,
I really enjoyed reading your building adventure on the OB15. I was wondering if you managed to fix the motor-trim issue by lowering the outboard somewhat. Your boat looks truly amazing, and the blog very inspirational!

Hello FrasianAngler. Sorry for the late reply, I'm in the Dominican Republic and since I've been here haven't been checking the forum much.
I didn't set the motor lower, I left it as is and been getting good performance with it were it is mounted. With the motor trimmed all the way down the cavitation plate is flush with the bottom of the boat, but when the motor is trimmed up level the cavitation plate sits about 3/4 above the bottom of the boat. The prop does not cavitate and the boat angle at speed is just right so I figured I'll leave it alone.
With the Suzuki 30 at wot with 3 adults, cooler full, and fishing gear I get 27 mph. I really like 4000 rpm it rides at 19 mph. At that speed this little boat can take some nasty chop and feels safe.
