OD18 Build in Texas

Post by Zane »

Starting a thread for my latest build.

It's been a while but I'm ready to do this. Every project starts with a dream, and then some small steps before the big ones. You have to take those initial steps or it never gets moving.

First the plans! Plans came in on 08/03/2021.

Next I ordered epoxy and glass. I didn't go with the kit for the OD18 but rather a custom mix because of my previous experiences, I want to use materials I'm familiar with. All of that arrived today 09/02/2021. The delay between the plans and material receipt is due to me, not BoatBuilderCentral.com. I wanted to make sure the OD18 is what I wanted to build before I bought any materials..

The service from the site has been 100% perfect. Great communication and everything shipped from Florida to Texas and made it here in two days from my placement of the order. UPS tracking and they told me the time they would be here. All packed safely and zero issues. That's pretty darn good IMO!

Might seem silly to post pictures of boxes but it is good to show potential builders the quality of service this site provides. They not only have good customer support, but package your stuff safely, and ship quickly. I've never had a complaint working with them.

Next up I'm ordering the CNC kit for the boat. I'll post pics when it arrives.

Like Fuzz, looking forward to seeing another OD18 come to life. When people ask me where mine came from I tell them it was a manilla envelope that came by mail so that first picture is perfect.

Enjoy your build, I sure enjoy my OD18 by CL the 70HP drives it well and it handles the short chop here in the mountains that we get well.
