Thanks Tom.
Spent the past few days sailing where the wind wants us to go, and dropping the pick in a snug and secluded anchorage each night. Restorative.
Have noticed the engine has been vibrating more than usual at idle, so investigated this afternoon. The aft starboard engine mount had had thrown its engine bracket hold down nut. Now fixed.

Good find and fix! That could have sucked!
Restorative. Going to use that word more myself.

Good catch GB, That could have been a disaster over time, but you know GS and can by now feel what and where something is off. A true blue water sailor.

Thanks cape man and Tom. Was nice to nip that problem in the bud.
While sailing today, the heavens opened for the first time on this voyage, and we both slipped on the cockpit sole varnished pre-voyage, fortunately without injury.
Foolish me for not prioritising applying anti-skid grit to final varnish coats. Weather permitting, tomorrow's agenda is clear.

Got a coat of anti skid grit sprinkled on top of a fresh coat of varnish this morning. Will let it set overnight, then apply another thin coat of varnish which should tone down some of the dry looking patches, e.g. top right hand corner of pic.
Over the next week or so, we'll give it a good wetting while sailing, and see how effective the anti skid is. If necessary, we'll apply another coat of grit.

Thanks Jeff.
Got a thin covering coat of varnish over the anti skid one, then went trekking in adjacent national park while it dried. Anti ski felt and looked good on return.
