Martin, Excellent Job
I've got my plans and epoxy kit and will be starting in April if all goes well.
I especially appreciate seeing the step by step pictures. You've given me some ideas for when I start mine.
Congrats!!

I'm switching off the targeting computer...

If you stitch both bottom pannels together along the bottom with good strong cable ties, then open out just like opening a greetings card, you will find the shape is formed automatically with no stress or wrestling, as in my pictures, the whole section will drop into place and touch evenly every inch of the way. Makes a nice concave shape!Rich_L wrote: I especially appreciated seeing your picture of stitching the two bottom pieces together along the entire length of the keel BEFORE stitching them to the sides. That's the first I've seen of that.
And it looks like it may have saved you having to wrestle them together at the bow if you had stitched between the bottom pieces along with stitching to the side pieces in unison.
Is this the case?
Or was it still a wrestling match at the bow? If so, I'm just about to enter the wrestling ring.
Thanks for your pictures.

The paint and colour i used was 2 pack cellulose, i started with an etch primer filler which goes well on epoxy, several coats were applied and smoothed with wet and dry paper, then a base coat of black metalic then a few coats of clear laquer, the finish is realy smooth and hard. It was a bit of a rush job so not perfect but is well worth the effort. Although the finish is hard, it does flex and not crack.BilltheCat wrote:Nice V12 - What color is the hull?
