Good trip with Capeman, plus my kids and a couple of my other friends. We caught a full limit plus released easy another limit. Lost a huge wahoo on a flat line. More photos…

Caught a few gags, all painfully released.

Great day offshore, my son snagged a stud ARS.

Also grilled up two of the 30ish vermilion snappers we killed.

When that big the meat is awful grannie. Still good but not near as good as the smaller ones. For me idea size is 20-40 pounds. It has been a while since I kept one over 100 pounds. If I had a guest catch a big one we would keep it of course. I am able to go often enough that we get all we want only keeping the smaller ones. And the real big ones are the breeding females.
That is a real nice fish. Hard to tell but looks to be well up in the 300 pound class. 84 inches would make it around 330 pounds.
