I like the idea of extending the stringers through the transom and adding the bracket to the end of the elongated stringers. Makes the transom a "false" transom or a bulkhead.
There are only two seasons in Vermont: boating season, and boat-building season.

That all looks good to me, and it's the quick look at how the boat is going to look that makes it extra fun. I see you put tape on the molds to keep the glue from bonding, that's good. It may be fine or you may need an adjustment, but I see the strong back ends at the tip of the bow; sometimes that has to be trimmed back to avoid interference- it's not a big deal.

I'm very interested to see one of these come together, and you're making a great start!
Hank

If the strong back interferes at the bow I will cut a notch in strong back. Thanks for the heads up. I do not want to end up with a droopy bow.

Thanks Fallguy, if I have an issue I will reach out to you.

I once fished out of a custom flats boat in the keys. The guy had extended the stringers to create the rear transom bracket, but then he plumbed the compartments back there to keep shrimp. Each compartment had 3/8 holes drilled into it to get water flow in and out to keep shrimp alive while at the dock. At the end of our trip, he emptied the main live and put the shrimp into the compartments. He said as long as the water wasn't to hot he could keep shrimp in there for days without running down the batteries with pumps. I thought it was a good idea for kind of a dead space. I can't wait to see how this will come together. What are you planning on doing with the boat? Fishing? if so where and what kind of fishing do you do? I see if I can find pic of his boat, it was a long time ago.

thanks

I will use boat to primarily for fishing inshore or nearshore for redfish and speckled trout. I venture offshore a few times per year when there is good weather for red snapper and mangroves. I primarily fish Cocodrie, Delacroix, and the Lake Pontchartrain bridges.

I intend to keep it simple on the build if I can contain myself. I will have a large hatch on the front deck for storage and space for a lithium battery with spot lock trolling motor. The center console will be per the plans minus the front seat. I will not install a T Top because they get in the way when fishing on small boats.

The boat will have a single aluminum gas tank, leaning post with livewell, two insulated fish boxes on the port and starboard of the full transom, a livewell in the center of the full transom. I will install fold up bench seating at the full transom. I am leaning towards a porta bracket instead of a transom bracket.

The sides are hung but I need to notch out the front of the strong back due to interference with the side panels at the bow.
