od 18 step chine

Post by Slim »

jacquesmm
I have my plans for the od 18 in my hands. An after some long thought ( pros @ cons ) I would rather have the step chine as a posed to the slant. I looked at how the od16s were done an see the diffrences in the two boats. It´s rather hard to realy get true measurements from a picture take at odd angles. I undrestand the concept but rather some true numbers.could you help me please

od 18 step chine

Strange: when it was available, many complained about it, now that we removed it, someone wants it . . .
You can build a step chine from your plans: mark the outline of bottom panel on the sole panel, join the two with a straight little panel.
All the dimensions are there but I would not bother to measure: cut the bottom, cut the sole, assemble on the stringers and you will see the chine.
