Your roof is too high... You have a 32' roof on a 23' boat.

There is nothing wrong with showering sitting down. Your shower should be on a flexible hose (you can still hook it up to the roof, there are clips for that). Toilet paper needs to be in a waterproof box.

Nice model all the same :D

The collapsible shower is a good idea.

For the look issues, I would like to see cx-25 stylish designs for displacement speeds too. CX-25 has nice clear lines but still lots of room under deck.

Nice job on the model Mike.

A removeable shower head on a hose would be good. It can clip up top if desired.

I like the Porta potti incorporated behind the enclosure and door, and under the table top. Great economy of function and space. :)

Except it's a bit hard to wash and dry your bum......

Don't take things so literally, guys! In my late teens/early twenties before I started flying I used to be a plumber, and if I ever build something like this, I would certainly use a quite different shower head arrangement; however, the copper tube and plastic button just happened to be handy when I was creating the shower/head cubicle on the model, so I simply used it to illustrate what the cubicle was intended to be. As for putting the toilet paper in a waterproof box - obviously that would be needed for the real thing since the porta potty is in the shower cubicle, but gee, Tony, where's your sense of humour? The addition of a toilet rollholder on the model was intended to be a joke.

As for the height of the cabin, plenty of builders have suggested adding 6" to the cabin height. I'm not saying it's the best solution, but it can certainly be done and whether or not the visual effect is acceptable is a matter of personal choice. As I said, an alternative is to use a pop-top over the shower area, which would be easier and would probably provide more head room than raising the cabin roof by 6". (I think it would also please Jacques much more than raising the roof line!).

It looks like we need a very roomy boat, around 25', with headroom all over and a shower . . . That will require some sacrifices in performance and sea keeping but not impossible.
I'm thinking about it.

In the mean time, if some of you could find examples of boats in that size with that type of features, please post.
Beware of brochures, they can be a bit lyrical about the boats they describe.

Jacques,

Here is an example of the interior layout some people (myself included) might be interested in.
http://www.seasportboats.com/ss1pgs/s/Snav.html

This happens to be a 26'-6" boat, but the cockpit is longer than I would need. If you cut 18" off the cockpit it seems like the layout could fit in a DE25. I would also like an outboard on a bracket (not an I/O like the Seasport) to give more room in a shortened cockpit. This particular boat has a "west coast" style cabin with a forward sloping windshield. I prefer the "downeast" style as shown in your DE25.

If you read my previous post in this thread, I am not looking for more interior room than you currently show in the Long Cabin DE25 - I just would like to see more room in the pilothouse and less in the down below cabin. At 5'-9" in height, I am also not looking for more headroom than shown on the DE25.

Here's one example of a 26' LOA with 8'6" beam:

I received some CAD files from the designer and he shows three layout options total. And of course, builder could modify further.

But that boat will not plane with a 40 or even a 90, no way.
I could design that easily if you accept to loose planing speeds.

Here is another example, although they did stretch their 25' boat to a 27' boat to fit in the head.

The C-Dory 25 has a stand-up head, but I think the head compartment might be a little on the small side.
