I think I'll run a PVC under the center of the console back to the motor well and out the transom. I'd like the pickup to be as low as possible to get cooler water. I don't mind a little water in the cockpit from drainage, but I don't like things on the sole that I'll either trip over or stub my toe on. I really wish I had just built it in when I was building the boat. Live and learn.
My boat is now a fishing boat. However, I have discovered that it is still a work in progress and needs some refinements. The important thing is that I'm on the water in a boat that I built. Over time, I'll get the bugs worked out.

OD's ROCK!
I also have had problems with my scuppers sitting below water line on my OD 18. I have to use plugs from the auto parts store to keep water from pouring in. This is the only problem I have had though. She doesn't like to run into chop though. I usually "snake" through waves and roll onto the chines to keep from pounding too hard.
I recently put a poling platform on my OD and I have been having a blast poling into 6-7" and sight casting to reds. I also took her offshore twice this year (on calm mornings). The RBSSA is right in my back yard here. Those of you in Texas probably know to avoid the flats here if you can't run shallow. Its a 300 dollar ticket for pushing up grass and mud! Luckily my OD runs in about a foot with the jackplate I installed. But I need about 1.5 ft to get up on plane.
I am hoping to build and an XF20 soon and turn it into a "scooter" but putting a deck across the entire boat. But I dont know if it'll happen... im gonna graduate soon and then I have to get a "real job", haha. ... ha ....ha.....
(note to all college students: stay in school as long as you can! and suck as much money out of your parents as you can!)
