I pulled this off a previous thread from you. I cannot find anything about a skeg on the PH 22 plans. It shows the six strakes. 4 under the
stringers and two on the chine but nothing about a skeg. Is a skeg just a strake that goes down the center of the keel? Do builders install both strakes and skegs?
"There is a little skeg on the plans, 1x1 or 1x2 on edge. It stops at 12" from the transom.
We don't have a note about it because it's really an option. Some builders prefer strakes.
Such a hull shape will alwasy be difficult to control, it's the nature of that hull shape, the price we pay for shallow draft.
A skeg will help."
