Re: FS18 Build- "Insufficient Funds"
Looks good guys. The air bubbles aren't a huge deal. Someone mentioned using a Dremel and grinding down to them and then filling. That's a good idea if you want to take the time. Some may come out when you sand it down. A tip, lower your strongback. It works great now but once you flip it and start working on the inside it's going to be a pain in the butt. Have fun building!

Lowering is good to do, or when you flip, remove the legs and do it on the floor so you can step in. We ended up on ours just making some cross braces and climbed in with a ladder. Probably wasnt the best idea though
Re: FS18 Build- "Insufficient Funds"
Haven't been able to make much progress these last few days work has been busy and the fishing has been to good not to go. We are ready to start stitching our half bottoms and sides together but the stringers sits low (3/4in) on the last mold toward transom (Mold E). I am wondering if this is an issue to worry about or if all of this is fine.

Re: FS18 Build- "Insufficient Funds"
I had the same happen on one of my molds. To prevent any bowing of the bottom, the stringers should be flush. Its a quick fix, just cut a small piece of scrap wood to shim it up for the time being. When you flip it over and glass the frames and stringers to the hull, the gap will be at the top and easily filled.
Re: FS18 Build- "Insufficient Funds"
Thank you for the tip. Was able to shim up the stinger and all is level now. I put the transom on and it is nice and square. I used temporary cleats attached to transom knees. My knees are resting on the strong back and am assuming this is ok. Even though my knees and stringer are set as snug as they can be on the bottom of the slits cut into the transom I still have a 1/4in that the stringers and knees sit above the bottom of the transom. Once I put my half bottom and sides on this will be filled in with epoxy correct?

Was able to start zip tying boat together tonight. went well until running out of zip ties and pvc. Planning on getting more zip ties tm and continuing to stitch her up. I am Wondering what peoples opinion is on using West 610 that comes in the caulk tube rather than epoxy and wood flower? I have seen several posts on it in others threads.
