Thanks for all of the nice responces guys. I really do enjoy the boat. It was built for family fun and fishing. Now that it is getting cooler and swimming does not look so atractive, maybe I will be able to do some fishing. To be honest, the kids are not really old enough or have the patients yet for what I call fishing. I am thinking that I will have to see whats biting when the kids are in school.

Any way, I still have not got the GPS out to see how fast she is with the 9.8. It is not too bad, it does plane after all. The motor had low hours and had been sitting for ten years. Rebuilt the water pump and had to get a couple of new coils. Then put a carb kit in. Still have not go the idle and timing totally dialed in yet, but have been getting it closer. There was an notacible diverence in the speed the last time out. I have it timed at WOT using the motor marks, I am trying to get the idle to synchronize whith the throttle. It will idle down nice and will accelerate nice to WOT, but when in low idle, the the marking on the throttle is between idle and start, not on idle. Maybe I am being picky and everything is fine.

Next thing to do is get a trolling motor and instal the depth finder.

Will keep everyone who is interested informed. Also thanks to every one who helped along the way.

By the way, other than all houses in Cary, NC being beige, We can now also be known as the GF16 capitol of the world. Two out of the blue within one mile of each other.
