I feel like this thread needs to be moved to the bilge. . .

I will understand if you do that but I never go to the bilge. I always fear I will find too much reality there. I prefer boats of any description, this one included, to real life. 8)

what I used on the bottom was americalock240 it says epoxy combined with americalock2/400 i think. i did wet the fiberglass out but everything turns black instead of clear, because the epoxy is colored, then sanded it a little, mixed it with the wood flower and coated it over with that and finally more epoxy mix over that I think the bottom is solid, like a tank, especially if i end up hitting a few reefs, scraping it loading and uploading it off the trailer etc lol,

i did try to do a very good job on the red, primed it, i did 4 thin coats of red , light sanding, wiping down in between etc.

where do i find the bilge on this site sounds interesting

You used the wrong product for the bottom glass...Amerlock 240 is still a paint primer/coating.

But for this special project I'm sure you'll never know the difference.

For those of you with some morbid curiosity of how things are going, I'm thinking this will work.

flipping it back over, bought some dollar store tube floats to put under it, in case things did not go over easy lol

lots still to do, sanding ever thing , fixing a few spots with fiberglass, add a drain hole. the windshield is not the original so it doesn't fit exactly, I will cut some wood wedges to make it work

I guess i'm going to paint the top white with some blue accent on some of the raised bow sections and a blue racing stripe down the center.

I did find the bilge, interesting stuff.

more pictures to follow as I do some of there things
