You will really start messing with the "work boat" finish if you start making custom end pieces.

Yesterday on Boogie's thread I posted a picture of a moose. Karl was surprised they would come that close to the house. This evening while I was out in the shop we got Narfi's snow  I walked out of the shop and saw fresh tracks in the snow. It was about dark but luckily I could make out momma moose and last years baby about 20 foot away. She was busy grazing and only gave me a brief glance. You just never know where the dang things will be. :help:

I have heard it said that there is a higher concentration of moose in a 5 mile radius of here than any other place in Alaska. I do know it is not unusual for me to see over 20 moose on the way to town.

Dang Fuzz I only get deer and bear that close or closer. The deer I don't mind, the bear I tell the hunters about when they are in season.

Do you eat much moose meat? Never had it; assume it woukd be ground into a patty with pork and you could call it mork. What do I know? We can't seem to keep the population here in Mn. This thing called wolf.

Growing up we would eat about 1.5 moose a year. The other half always went to somebody who did not get one that year. There was no sport involved in moose hunting. It was a fall job that had to be done. Moose is pretty good eating but very lean. Ate a lot of moose and drank powered milk. Beef and whole milk tasted strange to me and I didn’t really like it. A moose is about like a whole cow. Way too much for two people so it has been a few years since I hunted for one. But if a legal bull wonders into the yard during hunting season he might be in trouble
