Franks SK14 from Japan

Thanks for all the input I still haven’t made my mind up but I did pick up a nice barely used micro pole so pretty happy about that probably want get it installed back stateside in couple months. So still few more months till I can mark this one completed.

Hey NavyBuilder, do you have any more pictures of your completed hatch and/or hatch lid? Did you put a vertical lip around your lid or is just flat? Looks amazing!!!

How did you attach the rubrail and the extra wood you put atop the frame (for strength I assume)? Did you use epoxy between the pieces and clamp them, or some other type of glue? I'm building my first SK14 now and as such am still a noob. Looks great btw!

Another question similar to the last: How did you attach the framing for the storage compartment to the plywood above it? Once done, if you stand on that compartment, does it depress (bow down) at all? I'm wondering how you were able to cut out all of that space and still make it a walkable surface. Again, I'm new to all of this including the woodworking part.

Yes thickened epoxy for both, few screws to help run rails till it set off.

Thickened epoxy worked perfect and no it’s basically all structurally sound the boat noses over from my weight but I also don’t stand anywhere else other than where I added the supports.
