Re: FS18 Build- "Insufficient Funds"
I normally don't swear till after the beer but if I screw up I may swear and then go for the beer!

Have you run a level along the sheer line with it sitting flat on the ground?

I find it difficult to swear and beer simultaneously but I'm practicing to get it perfected.OrangeQuest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 12:52 pm I normally don't swear till after the beer but if I screw up I may swear and then go for the beer!![]()

It looks like you cut off about 6 inches, which is way too much and will need to be glassed back on, than re-cut correctly. When you do eventually get to the sheer re-marking stage, be sure to have all the stations/bulkheads temporarily in place with the hull sides screwed to them otherwise the hull sides will be flared out, and if you mark and cut it in that position you won't have a flat sheer. If you have the hull sitting level you can either use a simple water level, or a laser to make your mark. If sloping the sheer from stern to bow or vice versa, you can raise or lower either end, than use your choice of leveling device. Hope I didn't confuse things, it's really quite simple, and now you've learned not to use a string line on a curved surface. Sorry for this set back, but a few more hours and a little more materials and you'll be past it. Good luck. Mike

What the hell, where can you build in a parking garage?! And store 3 cords of oak.
