?????? Are the legs on the front casting platform made out of 5# mushroom anchors? Sure looks like it to me. Boat looks great. :D

Those are fiberglass flanged pipe fittings that I am improperly using as poling/casting platform legs (or anchors too I guess). I'm getting in a hurry and decided I'd make my lighter weight carbon fiber legs later. This is the fat/ugly version thanks to http://www.frppiping.com. A few bucks, a few extra pounds, lots of saved time. The platform should weigh in at about 9 lbs with these legs being 1 lbs each.

John, we've had to cancel our fishing trip because of the hurricane, so I won't be coming down this Friday. I was looking forward to meeting you and having lunch. It looks like I'll be sanding a boat instead of fighting grouper :(

Email me your address and I'll put the flaring tool in the mail for you tomorrow.

John, where did you get your fuel tank? I am about at that point in my build and I dont want to be held up for too long.

Sorry I didn't see your post about my fuel tank Mike. I had my tank built at http://www.rdsaluminum.com/ and was very pleased with their professionalism and their product. They are not too far from me in Perry, FL but shipping was still about $40- a little high but I wasn't able to make the 2 hr round trip to get it myself so I paid. Otherwise price seemed competitive. It was exactly as I had asked to be built and it is perfect for what I am doing. Good luck with yours.

No problem John. I'm glad I found a local guy that can build the tank. Keeping the money close to home and if I have any issues I can do it face to face not over the phone. And I get to see it while it is being built and be more hands on in the design of the tank and the platform.

How is your build coming along?

John, I was just talking about this for my build. Is that the T&H jackplate? If so, I am planning on using the same one. It is lighter and has a smaller footprint than the Bob's plate. I am going to use the 9X9 Lenco tabs just like you have. Your boat is looking great! I flipped mine back over and trying to get her faired. Ordering Quickfair and primer tomorrow,. Did you use Sterling or System 3 primer?
