Wow! What an amazing pictorial overview of your build to date, and what a high quality build. Well done!
Currently building Jacques Mertens ST21 "Skinnydip". Boating adventures: Splash testing and using 'Skinnydip, as a basis of further building refinement; Adams 44’ sailing sloop "Great Sandy" (cruising and maintaining); Iain Oughtred Feather Pram "Mini Dip" (building); Jacques Mertens R13 "Wood Duck" (built and due for maintenance).

Re: Jaredh's FS18 Build
This thread is back from the dead with some progress the past couple weeks.
Got the inside fiberglassed, stringers glassed in, and frames glassed in.
Headed back to FL tomorrow for a week (keeping the big boat in Islamorada for the winter). So there won't be any additional progress for a week or so, but wanted to provide an update.

Yeah man. Looking good! Now onto the cleats.
Re: Jaredh's FS18 Build
I am back at it after a move, kitchen remodel, and setup of a shelter logic tent. The new house is nicer, but I already miss the heated shop. No pictures at this time, but things are setup in the new tent. I cut down the jig to make working on the inside a bit easier.
Ordered a new Yamaha F25 tiller with manual everything, and a Venture VASK-2100 trailer. Both should arrive in 4 weeks so I have a bit of a fire lit under my butt to get some progress done. Planning on ordering a Bobs Mini Jack Plate as well.
I was hoping to get some feedback on hatches. I want to get some pre-made hatches, and don't like the look or feel of the plastic options on the market. I was thinking of getting a pair of these: https://www.boatbuildercentral.com/prod ... prod=Hatch in 14"x32" for the forward compartment, and 22"x32" for the aft compartment. I would likely sort out a gas assist for the rear hatch. My only concern is weight without being able to handle them before purchase. Are these hatches in these sizes an appropriate match for the FS18?
Thanks, and Ill try to get back on track with some updates (with photos) in the coming weeks!

Re: Jaredh's FS18 Build
Which shelter logic tent did you get?
I have really gotten good use out of mine, but I definitely crave a heated shop.
You working on a dirt floor or put a tarp or something down to work on? I have a big tarp laid down under my work area, and it has made a huge difference and allowed me to sweep and blow out dust that otherwise would have been a permanent part of my project.
