stitches or screws?

Post by AMStoehr »

I am building a D4 and am slightly confused about part of the plans. They say "start by stitching together the two side panels and the main frame" but then, two sentences later, say "Do not stitch the frames to the hull panels. Frames can be kept in place with a few drywall screws."

Is this inconsistent, or am I missing something?

Thanks,

Andrew

stitches or screws?

Don´t worry. It´s simple. Always screw the panels to the frames, always stitch the panel seams together with wire or cable ties.

Evan Gatehouse

Thanks. It went together very nicely. As of right now, I have the sides screwed to the panels, and a very few stitches holding the bottom to the sides, but nothing holding the frames to the bottom.

It´s very rigid, except that the frames can "bow" if I push on them. Should I use a few drywall screws to anchor the frames to the bottom as well, while I´m working on the seams?

Andrew
