Don't want to but I have to! I am moving overseas, and cannot take it with me.
BRAND NEW 90 HP 2 Stroke Yamaha w/controls and tach. Less than 5 hours on motor. Smart tabs. Compass. VHF. 12volt outlet on console.
This rig is ready to fish.
I was going to install a livewell in the front of the console, but that had to be sidelined.
New aluminum I-Beam trailer w/14" wheels.
Asking $12000 for all!

Nice boat Patrick,

That thing must fly with a 90 - how fast can you get it? I get 22 knots with 2 people and my 50 evinrude on mine!

22 knots with a 50 and 2 persons is not enough. We got 35 mph (30 knots) with 3 persons and a new 40 HP.

I have had it up to 37 mph. However, I would not recommend that speed to anybody with this type of boat. Safety becomes an issue quickly as the boat wants to either start lofting or bury the bow. With the 90, and a 14" pitch prop, the boat is very stable at 28 mph and the motor is loafing. No strain at all and it is very fuel efficient 24 - 26 mph seems to give the best ride that is easily controlled.
I bought the 90 hp thinking that I would put it on another boat at a later date. One that is designed for that amount of power.
I had a 70 hp Yamaha on it that needed extensive work, but still pushed the boat very well. It needed the tilt & trim replaced and the water jacket cleaned out. Clogged w/sand, oyster shell, etc. After looking into what that would cost, I decided to buy a new 70 hp yamaha, but found this 90 for $100 more than the 70.
So............. that is why it has a 90 on it. The new 70 and 90 are only a few pounds apart and I knew it would be fine on the OD18. Just a tad over-powered is all.

Did you get those speeds on the OD 16 or 18 - or would they be equivalent? I think that my engine is working pretty well - do you think that a change in prop would make that much difference to the speed? It hits about 5000 rpm at full throttle.

Yes, absolutely

Also check trim,

Also check position of anti-cavitation plate in relationship to hull.

Your numbers are way off.

There is also one other unlikely thing you need to check. How did you determine speed? Boat speedo's are notoriously unreliable. If you didn't use a GPS borrow one and check boat speed.

Also what is your fuel consumption

With 50 hp. you should easily get 30 mph. (too early to convert to knots)

Not to totally hijack thread, that's a beautiful boat.

The rule of thumb I heard regarding engine RPM/prop pitch is that for every inch in pitch, up or down, you can look for about 200 RPM.
With that in mind, if your motor is rated for 5800 RPM WOT, you need to drop pitch about 4 inches.
I started with a 17" pitch and ended up with a 14 inch. WOT is now @ 5800+ RPM. Easy cruise at 3000 and the engine is loafing.
There will be a slight difference between an aluminum prop and stainless. Aluminum flexes under load and the stated pitch actually drops a bit. Very little flex w/stainless.
It really does make a difference in engine performance & fuel consumption.

This is a good boat. With the old 70, I have had it in big water in the Gulf. Not on purpose, just got surprised one day. I was not able to go fast, but I was certainly able to go and never once felt as if I was in danger and the ride was surprisingly dry.
I consider this boat unsinkable. Full foam flotation under the sole. Draft is about 8 inches. Large anchor locker in the bow w/drain and full compliment of ground tackle. Approx. 200' rode, 6' stainless chain w/stainless swivels. Stainless bow roller/w cleat. 19 gallon fuel tank located beneath the anchor locker w/access and venting. All wiring is stranded and tinned marine. 4 gauge wiring from battery to motor.
I didn't scrimp on materials. All plywood is marine baltic birch w/NO voids. Stringers are made of 3/4 marine ply laminated, glassed and straight to within 1/32 inch. Two 1 1/2" scuppers in the transom drain this boat quickly and are covered w/the "ping pong ball" scupper covers. Fuel gauge and tachometer and compass. Hummingbird depth finder/temperature included Smart tabs. Removable panel in the front of the console allows full access to all wiring and controls. 90 hp yamaha is barely broken in and has yet to taste salt water. Aluminum I-Beam trailer w/stainless fittings is over sized w/14" tires to reduce heat build-up during long trips and a spare tire. Trailer stingers are fitted to make retrieval drive on & self centering.

I think $12000 would be very reasonable and I hope to get an offer soon.
