VG20 beam reduction
Regretfully, I need to reduce the maximum beam by 2" to get a comfortable fit through my brick garage door opening. Yes, I have thought about altering the garage.

Is there an easy way to get this reduction without too much impact to the overall symmetry of the hull, or do I have to reduce every dimension of the boat by 2.2% ??

regards,
Jeff

The exact max. beam inside of the hull panels is 7´ 5". Add plywood thickness at an angle, fiberglass and you get 7´ 7".

It would be difficult to change that. Can you not roll the boat sideways to get her out?
Or remove the door frame?

I am concerned about when the boat is on the trailer and backing the boat. The drive has quite a steep downward slope. The garage & door opening is brick & under the house. Above the garage is a bedroom. Could I reduce the boat width by 1" either side of the centre line, redraw the bulkheads & adjust the panel lengths by fitting, if & where required ?

Jeff

Jacques, my 1st @ 2nd e-mail were not clear.
The boat has NOT been started yet. I am getting ready to mark out the panels & bulkheads. Can I adjust the max. beam on the drawings ?

regards,
Jeff

You can: 1 or 2" are not going to affect the hull performance.
