about the Texas Sled

Post by SFC Hall »

Can anyone here tell me everything about the Texas Sled?

I have been looking at this design seems to be what I am looking for. I want a large stable fishing deck, big enough to take friends out and a smooth ride. This seems to be perfect.

I have a 60hp on a Jon I own now and a 70hp in the barn, I could use either for the boat I build. I will use it lakes around NY and Pa. Maybe even in Lakes Eire and Ontario. But will also be fishing in shallow lakes with a 10hp restriction.

I looked at the Phantoms and Garveys first, and had it narrowed down to one of them when this one caught my eye…

So, if anyone has any experience, please tell me everything.

This is the only one on the board at the present time. http://forums.bateau2.com/viewtopic.php?t=11527

Huck will be splashing his boat any day now and we are all waiting to see how that bad boy runs. He did a fine job on it. He has many pictures on that link as well as in his album.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here or in my thread. Hope to splash this week. Will post reports.
