Jacques,

What are your thoughts on your camp cruiser?

How similar to the Redwing do you expect it to be?

What length and beam are you thinking? (personally, I'd like to see it a little wider than Redwing if it won't botch the aesthetics)

Plain old true flat bottom or slight vee to ease the ride? (I noticed they've made this an option on "their" version.)

What will give it your "signature" as compared to the Redwing? (I can't find any pictures of the original Chappelle design.)

You mentioned elsewhere that inboard might be an option. Hope that means outboard will always be in play.

I know it's way early, but I'm hoping chatter will move the time frame along.

That is correct, it's too early.

Here is a small picture of the Chappelle boat:




It was featured in an earlier edition of WB and you could run down that issue (it's in the caption to the photo but I can't read it).

I have the 2005 edition and if I have time I'll try to locate that edition number of the earlier one, unless someone can blow it up and read it.

It's 179 to 181 but I have the lines somewhere in a book by Chapelle.
Anyway, thanks for posting that. The boat will look very much as in the drawing, there isn't much to improve on.

I found the Chapelle plans. I have several sets of them, one in a book and one from the Smithsonian and I probably also have two sets of WB articles about it.
The scantlings are going to need some work: he specifies 3/4" for the sides!
That's good in a way, I can use thinner ply and give it some flare.
There is an inboard and an outboard version.
I like the small pilothouse option.
This should not take too much time to design but let's finish the Dorado/Panga 28 first.

Look for the one on the right:



The big red one on the trailer is the boat in question with its folding hard dodger in place.
