I think the spaghetti is used for line.
Meanwhile in NZ, I've had 4 wet weekends in a row. Trying to get a frame glassed in but no joy. Days are getting longer now though, solstice just gone by...

Great reports thanks cape man.
Currently building Jacques Mertens ST21 "Skinnydip". Boating adventures: Splash testing and using 'Skinnydip, as a basis of further building refinement; Adams 44’ sailing sloop "Great Sandy" (cruising and maintaining); Iain Oughtred Feather Pram "Mini Dip" (building); Jacques Mertens R13 "Wood Duck" (built and due for maintenance).

Thanks OWT, OQ, Michael, Fuzz , Jeff, and Coach. I promise to keep posting our adventures when I can. As stated many times before I believe the building part is just the beginning, and I wish more folks would keep us all informed of the life of their boats afterwards.
We were so beat after the drive that we just unhooked the boat and unloaded the truck Have to clean everything and store my gear today, and figure out why the bilge pump quit as we were loading Friday morning.

Re: Cape Man's Dory
Per Cracker Larry, the line to the auto switch on the bilge is not fused and hooked directly to the batteries. I appreciated his arguments for that, but this is my third bilge pump that has fried when the impeller has been jammed with weeds and or detritus. My brother and friend cleaned the boat as I cleaned the fish, and washed everything into the bilge. Can't be mad at them as they were helping, but now I'm spending another $50 to fix it. I'm adding an inline fuse for the wire to the batteries...
I'll post pics later, but I'm also having issues again with the glass delaminatting on top of the gunwales. Trying to be calm about it, but this is twice and I've used the same techniques on other boats and projects without this issue. Nothing structural but the gunwales are what sets the boat off from others. The wood was old and very dry, and the last time I put 4 layers of epoxy down before the glass...
Still loving the dream of the boat I built...
