Blacktips are good. You bleed them and clean them right away or they have a "tangy" flavor. Never ate a Bull but friends claim they are okay. On the beach everything tastes better.

Some more pics...
Realized my son and his friends had never opened a coconut before...
The anchor system which allows to pull the boat in and out on the anchor which made hauling baits out easy.
If your charcoal is old and a bit damp, expired flares make a great charcoal lighter
The permit we caught in the cast net were too small to eat...
My son's two friends with the new-to-them Gheenoe they just bought on the way home. They were VERY happy!!!
A nice sunrise on the Cape

Those gheenoe are the bomb down here. You see them flying across the sound (literally if the chop is up) and every one of them seems to be on fish. If I ever convert to a motor, I think that will be my goto if I'm not allowed to build another boat.

Man that looks like it was a good trip. And to do it with your son had to make it even better.
So if you keep a shark how do you keep the meat until you get back home? Must take tons of ice and one damn good cooler.

In the park you can only have whole fish on the boat. I have only killed one small shark while camping because you have to eat it all before leaving. I actually got a ticket at Flamingo in 1989 for having the filets from a Sheepshead in my cooler on the boat when we returned from a Cape Sable trip.. The shark fishing is primarily catch and release.

Re: Cape Man's Dory
Was waiting for a few more pics from my son's phone...
Not as dangerous as Barraman's lizards, but the saltwater crocs are making a huge comeback in the park. This one didn't slide into the water... Trolling for mackerel a few miles offshore. Not a single hit, but good times alone with son.
