Sterling Coverage and some other Stuff

Post by Chessie »

I thought I saw it somewhere but can't find it now.

Is the Sterling paint compatible with the S3 Primer (High Build Yacht Primer)

What is the coverage per gallon of the Sterling Paint and per gallon of S3 primer (Assuming compatibility).
By gallon I mean starting with 1 gallon of paint + 2 quarts of
catalyst + 2 quarts brushing thinner.= 2 finished gallons.

How many coats of Sterling Paintis needed over the S3 primer?

I have approximately 400 SF to paint and am trying to compile the material list to do so so I can place an order (Hopefully)

Jacques/Joel

I don't see the Sterling reducer (2965) in the BBC list. What is the cost per 1/2 gallon?

Thanks

Chessie can't answer the Sterling questions but yes the S3 primer is very compatible with it. Joel used it on the rebuild he finished a little while ago. There is a 4 page instruction manual you can pull up and print ffor the primer(it also includes the topcoat). I beleive it is 300-350 sq ft per gal. You will want to put on 3 coats for best coverage.

Also look in the Sterling primer section for the price of the reducer. I think it may be there. I remember seeing it somewhere.
